Rewarding Those Who Keep the Peace
In the interest of a safe and civil society, laws must be created. But it’s not enough for the laws to exist, they also have to be enforced in order to have any kind of effect. The responsibility of enforcing the laws of the land falls to a number of different agencies, departments and organizations around the world. It’s not just the patrol officers working to keep their communities safe. Law enforcement responsibilities extend to state police protecting highways, school safety officers defending our children in school, Military Police serving their country and upholding the laws of their branch of service, FBI agents and even private security staff.
If there’s one thing that all of the men and women who choose any level of law enforcement as a career have in common, it’s their innate bravery and unique sense of duty. Whether they’re secret service agents or members of the DEA, these men and women put their lives on the line in an effort to keep others safe. Their sacrifice and dedication deserves to be honored and rewarded with custom challenge coins.
We’ve been fortunate to partner with multiple customers in different law enforcement agencies around the world in the creation of the custom coins used to honor the members of their team. Years of experience have left us more than prepared to create something special your law enforcement officers and agents will cherish.
Challenge Coins for Different Levels of Domestic Law Enforcement
Police challenge coins are the first things people think of when they hear about law enforcement challenge coins. This is reasonable considering that for most people, the primary experience they have with law enforcement will be with the police officers assigned to keep the peace in their immediate communities. But while organizations like the NYPD and LAPD create some truly impressive challenge coins, the municipal police are really just the tip of the law enforcement iceberg.
Even when they’re looking to celebrate their solo ventures, Sheriff’s offices have the ability to create some unique and impressive challenge coins. The Riverside County Sheriff’s office made use of a great 3D mold in the shape of a diving suit in honor of their Black Water Divers team. The dive team is comprised of both sworn officers and civilian volunteers. This highlights one of the fun aspects of law enforcement challenge coins: They’re just as likely to be created for the public as they are the brave people sworn to protect that public.
If one coin isn’t enough to showcase just how impressed with your law enforcement team you are, consider ordering a series like the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office did. These four coins all use the same front face mold, but two of them use a different back face, and each set is divided between either high polish or antique copper plating. It’s a great way to showcase just how different coins can be with something as simple as different plating options.
Sheriff’s offices aren’t the only organizations outside of municipal police departments to make use of law enforcement challenge coins. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate enough to partner with agents in the DEA, ATF, FBI and even U.S. Marshals Service in the creation of their challenge coins. One fun law enforcement design we were excited to get the chance to work on was a coin for the United States Secret Service.
The back of this coin with its surfboards sticking out of the back of a trolley and palm trees swaying in the breeze almost suggests that the Secret Service agents of the San Diego field office spend more time catching waves than protecting the leader of the free world. Of course the truth is that the coins were created in celebration of the excellent job these agents do in their duties. The “Stay Classy” at the bottom is a fun nod to the movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
